The Tongo Lizard lives in the depths of the Amazon Rainforest, Up in the Emergent layer. This habitat is vital for Tongo Lizards as it needs the right combination of Vitamin D from the sun, Vitamin B and C from water and much more. However more and more trees are constantly getting destroyed by paper companies. They may plant them back but on the other hand trees don’t grow fast! Tongo Lizards don’t go very far from water as it is important for many things such as bathing, drinking and sometimes can be used as escape routes! So many of them stay near the edge of the Amazon River.
